Yomojo Noshbites Review

At the beginning of the year, I embarked on a sugar detox. I have cut right back on refined sugar and I feel an awful lot better for making this change to my diet. But I do quite a lot of exercise and sometimes, I feel like I need a bit of an energy boost to get me through a workout. So the Yomojo Noshbites arrived for a review at just the right time.

Yomojo make their products by hand, slowly and using organic, raw ingredients. Everything is cold pressed and free from palm oil, refined sugars, dairy, gluten and soya. They are made in England and packaged up in plant based, home compostable wrappers. I was delighted to try four different flavours, so here's what I thought of each of them.

Coconut and Cacao Noshbites

The Coconut and Cacao Noshbites are basically like a healthy Bounty bar. You can get your chocolate fix entirely from raw, plant-based ingredients. The chocolatey flavour is from cacao powder and the sweetness comes from dates. The desiccated coconut and coconut oil combine to give this bar a refreshing coconut taste. I found this perfect for after a workout, I felt like I'd had a treat but not eaten too much. It was also great to know that everything in it was healthy and nothing was harmful to the environment.

Hemp and Cacao Noshbites

I love the flavour of hemp and it's a bit of a superfood. Full of protein and all sorts of goodness. I know some people aren't fond of the flavour though and this bar uses dates, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds as well as the hemp to give it a slightly nutty flavour. The texture is also great and I felt that these ones were a perfect replacement for a biscuit as a snack.

Lemon and Ginger Noshbites

I have to admit, the lemon and ginger flavour was my favourite. It seemed so refreshing with the citrus flavour from the lemon. I didn't feel too full after eating this bar and could definitely eat more of them. I think this is something I'd have as an afternoon snack or before a workout. This bar is packed full of deliciously sweet dates and crunchy almonds.

Fig and Oats Noshbites

The Fig and Oats Noshbites aren't available on the Yomojo website yet, but they will be shortly. I'd definitely recommend looking out for them because they taste fabulous. I honestly didn't think I'd like these ones because I'm not the biggest fan of figs. But in these Noshbites they are combined with dates, oats, pumpkin seeds, coconut and cinnamon to give a fabulous taste. I think that the use of cinnamon in this one was what swung it for me. After the excesses of Christmas, having cinnamon in a healthy bar with no refined sugar was just what I needed. This was the most filling of the snacks I tried and I'd probably eat it for breakfast.

Please note, these products were sent to me free of charge for the purpose of a review. All views, opinions and tasty snacks are my own and I'm happy to admit I didn't share any of them.
